Formative Assessment Institute-Year Two

We are very excited for our second year of Formative Assessment; hope you had a little bit of time to rest over the summer. This email confirms you as a participant for year two: Formative Assessment Institute and includes the details about the September session. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me at plange@tie.net.

· All training sessions to be held at the Best Western Inn in Lander (yeah!)
· Dates for year two cohort: September 22 (registration and credit signup only 6:00-8:00 p.m. See detailed agenda at end of email)September 23-24, 2008; November 10-11, 2008; February 11-12, 2009; and March 30-31, 2009.
· A new binder for year two will be provided.
· All handouts will be printed for the first session.
· Handouts will be posted on Formative Assessment Website at http://fai.tie.wikispaces.net.

Please bring the following items with you in September:
· A classroom assessment that has been administered and scored (assessment must include multiple choice questions).
· From this classroom assessment, bring at least 10 of the student tests – remove names. (We will be working with test questions and student results)
· Bring curriculum items (mostly learning targets and assessment ideas) for your next unit of study. If assessments are already developed, please bring a copy.
· If your team will focus on a specific content area for this year, appoint one person to bring materials for the entire team.
· If you are an administrator or instructional facilitator, pair up with a teacher to gather the materials.
· Your Rick Stiggin’s Book.
